Asian Story Theater

Asian Story Theater (AST) is a non-profit theater company in San Diego that produces and presents stories, plays, and performances that showcase the diverse experiences, cultures, and perspectives of the Asian Pacific Islander American (APIA) community. The theater aims to educate, entertain, and empower the community through their works.

California Center for the Arts Theatricals

With a mission of bringing people together to discover, create and celebrate both the visual and performing arts, the California Center for the Arts, Escondido is the cultural center of North San Diego County.

The Center’s activities are dedicated to furthering arts entertainment and arts education in the community, by sustaining and expanding programs that provide cultural enrichment for residents of North County and beyond.

Community Actors Theatre

Community Actor’s Theater is a non-profit all-volunteer theatrical troupe dedicated to providing drama and a creative outlet to the Oak Park region. CAT gives a voice to local playwrights and actors and is an example of a grassroots effort to create a special place for members of the community to express themselves. They aim to educate and offer theatrical training through drama/theater workshops that are open to all ages. These efforts are then put into practice in the form of community talent showcasing.

Coronado Playhouse

Coronado Playhouse's mission is to produce theatrical works that entertain, engage, and enlighten the mind and spirit by fostering an appreciation of the performing arts in our community. Through thoughtful practices in programming, casting, and staffing they acknowledge and elevate the broad spectrum of experiences in the community.

Cultural Noire Performing Arts Company

Founded in 2010, Cultural Noire Performing Arts Company is a theatrical company whose purpose is to produce and preserve the richness of the African Diaspora through its presented artistic works and programs.  From its ongoing partnership with Project1VOICE/New York City to being a 2016-17 Global Presenting Partner of the National Museum of African American History and Culture’s (NMAAHC) “Lift Every Voice” Global Grand Opening Celebration, the theatre company is an artistic cultural institution that sustains historical legacy in a contemporary world.

Cygnet Theatre

Since taking flight, Cygnet Theatre has grown into one of San Diego’s largest theatre companies and become known for producing adventurous, entertaining, and thought-provoking live professional theatre year-round.

Diversionary Theatre

Founded in 1986, Diversionary Theatre is recognized as one of San Diego’s best theatres, and proudly showcases the most vibrant and diverse group of talent the city has to offer. We aim to foster and amplify the next generation of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and other marginalized voices by providing the local community with live entertainment in a dynamic, inclusive, and welcoming environment that celebrates and preserves our unique culture.

Genesis Opera Theatre

Genesis Opera Theatre is a professional opera company that produces both traditional and contemporary operas, as well as other forms of vocal and chamber music. The company is known for its innovative productions, dynamic performances, and commitment to promoting new talent. The company has a strong commitment to education and community outreach.

La Jolla Playhouse

La Jolla Playhouse is where artists and audiences come together to create what’s new and next in American Theatre. From Tony Award-winning plays and musicals to imaginative programs for young audiences, to interactive experiences outside our theatre walls, the Playhouse brings people together to inspire discussion and open pathways to new ways of thinking.

Lamb’s Players Theatre

Lamb's Players Theatre is one of San Diego's leading not-for-profit, professional performing arts organizations, presenting an exciting variety of work year-round in their resident theatre in Coronado. They also have an Educational Outreach program touring schools across the county. They are an artist-led company and employ a multi-talented team of actors, directors, designers, and craftspeople annually. Lamb's Players Theatre is a small theatre “that punches above its weight.”

Lamplighters Community Theatre

Serving the La Mesa and surrounding communities, Lamplighters Community Theatre produces six-season productions a year. They also support special events and one-act shows between the regular season productions. Their goal is to provide a quality theater experience for our community, to provide a training facility for artistic, technical &  administrative aspects of theater, and to have fun while we do it.

MOXIE Theatre

MOXIE Theatre is a professional non-profit theatre founded in 2004. Their mission is to create more diverse and honest images of women+ for our culture using the intimate art of theatre. Through their productions of plays written by women+, educational programs, annual MOXIE Awards ceremony, and career-launching professional opportunities, MOXIE is creating a pipeline for women+’s work and inspiring audiences to create change in their own communities.

New Village Arts

The mission of New Village Arts is to create adventurous artistic experiences to awaken the human spirit. They provide a collaborative and inspiring home for performing and visual artists. a forum for laughter, discussion, and deeper thinking within our community. They also provide a training ground for future generations of art-makers and art-lovers.

North Coast Repertory Theatre

North Coast Rep’s mission is to create a platform where artist and audience thrive through the intimacy of live theatre, recognizing the power of theatre to challenge complacency, revitalize the imagination, nurture the unexpected and embrace the variety and diversity in our lives.

Oceanside Theatre Company

Oceanside Theatre Company (OTC) is passionate about enriching our community through the expansion of the arts. Their mission includes producing professional theatrical productions for the entertainment and enrichment of our community, presenting educational opportunities in the arts for children and adults, and providing a venue for the expansion of artistic endeavors in North San Diego County.

OnStage Playhouse

Proud to be the only "live” full-time, theatrical stage in the South Bay community, OnStage Playhouse operates year-round, producing 6 regular shows, numerous short-run productions, and FREE arts education events. The theatre is recognized as a significant cultural arts contributor to the community, and consistently impresses its audiences, critics, and judges with continuing high-quality productions. Throughout its history, OnStage has received more than its share of County-wide technical, acting, direction, and production awards. OnStage Playhouse has been performing in Chula Vista, California since 1983, opening the doors to thier current location in 1999.

Patio Playhouse

Patio Playhouse is a non-profit community service organization dedicated to providing entertainment for the Southern California community, creating opportunities for people of talent and interest who wish to participate and/or perform, and to providing training for individuals who wish to learn about theater art.

Playwrights Project

The mission of Playwrights Project is to empower people of all ages and backgrounds to voice stories through theatre, inspiring individual growth and creating meaningful community connections. Their vision is to sustain an inclusive, compassionate community that broadens minds through the power of creativity and theatre.

Poway OnStage

Formed in 1990, the Poway Center for the Performing Arts Foundation has gone by many names: Arts Alive! The PCPA Foundation. The POW! Foundation. In 2015, they proudly rebranded as Poway OnStage. Poway OnStage assembles a line-up of marquee talent from the worlds of drama, dance, music, comedy and more.

PowPAC, Poway’s Community Theatre

The Poway Performing Arts Company, is Poway's only Community Theatre, established in 1981. Their mission is to create theatrical experiences of the highest standards within the community theatre environment; to produce and present works ensuring diverse and balanced programming; to provide an environment for the growth and education of the artist, the audience, and the community at large; to expand our audiences; to engage our audiences; and above all else, to entertain our audiences.

Point Loma Playhouse

Point Loma Playhouse's purpose is to present quality theatre to the public, provide educational opportunities to actors, directors, writers, and designers to develop their creative skills, and offer collaborative opportunities for community members to be involved in the production of theatre.

San Diego Junior Theatre

San Diego Junior Theatre originally began as a community program of the Old Globe Theatre. Today, Junior Theatre operates as an independent, nonprofit organization for the benefit of children throughout San Diego County, and is the oldest youth theatre program in the country.

Scripps Ranch Theatre

The Roustabouts Theatre Co.

The Roustabouts Theatre Co. is dedicated to entertaining, educating, and inspiring audiences in Southern California by producing fresh visions of classics, well-known contemporary plays, and new works. By bringing together notable local actors, directors, and playwrights, we celebrate the artist and honor the creative impulse by drawing from the rich, diverse talents of those who live in our region.

Trinity Theatre Company

Trinity Theatre Company (TTC) renders productions of great societal value in hopes of unifying friends, family, and community. TTC believes all individuals wishing to participate in the performing arts should have a venue in which they inspire and are inspired. Their shows merge the talents of seasoned performers as well as spirited newcomers, jointly engaged in both performance and technical aspects of theatre.
